Chlorinating Granules

Chlorinating GranulesSodium Dichlor* is the only popular type of chlorine that does not require additional neutralizing chemicals. However, some retailers may skimp on the ratio of Dichlor-to-inert ingredients, so you may need to use more to get the same sanitizing power. Our chlorinating granules are 99% sodium dichlor. Working directly with the chemical manufacturers allows us to request, and receive, the best mixture for consistent optimal use. This means you use just the right amount in your spa - saving money in the long run.

*Should be avoided by those allergic to chlorine

Bromine is a popular alternative to Chlorine. Bromine sanitizers consist of two components- Sodium Bromide, which is the primary sanitizing agent but is in an inactive form, and another chemical which converts it into an active Bromine form. In the Bromine Tablet system, this activator is a small amount of Chlorine and should be avoided by those allergic to it. In the Two-Part Bromine system, the Bromide is activated by Spa Activator, a non-chlorine shock.

Bromine Advantages

  • No odor or eye burn when used properly
  • Two-Part Bromine is pH neutral
  • Bromine Tablets are easy to use- just refill dispenser

Bromine Disadvantages

  • Bromine can potentially bleach the hot tub shell surface
  • Not compatible with ThermoClear Cartridge
